HOLD ON: The Musical
The Band Triumph
The Band Triumph
In 1975 in Toronto, ON, three young Canadians, Rik Emmett (guitar/lead vocals), Mike Levine (bass & keyboards), and Gil Moore (drums) joined forces to become the Canadian rock power trio, Triumph. One year later, they released their first album. Nine more albums were released between 1977 and 1993. Between the band's 16 albums and DVDs, Triumph has received 18 gold and 9 platinum awards in Canada and the United States. In 1978 the band opened Metalworks recording studio. In 1983 the band played for a crowd of 500,000 alongside of Van Halen, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue and Quiet Riot. In 1988, Emmett left the band to pursue a solo career and still performs today. Moore and Levine continue to focus on Metalworks, a state of the art recording studio that has been ranked one of the top recording studios in North America. Artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Drake, Demi Lovato, Black Eyed Peas, and more have recorded albums that have gone Gold and Platinum, at Metalworks. In 2008, Triumph was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame joining other honorary members as: Neil Young, Rush, Joni Mitchel, The Guess Who, The Band, Shania Twain, Bryan Adams, K.D. Lang, and Bachman-Turner Overdrive. In 2009, their 1979 top 40 hit, LAY IT ON THE LINE was released on Guitar Hero 5.
A SPECIAL THANK YOU
I will forever be grateful to Rick Wharton and the band Triumph! Not only did Rick recognize the potential in this project, he helped me obtain the rights to "HOLD ON's" incredible soundtrack written by three brilliant artists: Rik Emmett, Mike Levine, and Gil Moore. I am truly humbled to have been granted the rights to use their inspiring songs to tell this important story. As a long-time fan, it is my honor and thrill to introduce the music of Triumph to a new generation of listeners!
